Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Uses metal core mig, tig, fluxcore or stick welding process (must pass two or more)

· Ability to pass applicable test(s) and applicable Non Destructive Exam

· May weld brackets and braces and use grinders. May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools. May perform position welds on code materials

· Proficient in flame and plasma cutting torches

· Must have some experience reading and understanding blueprints

· Must be able to operate basic cutting equipment

· Promotes and supports safety, production and positive attitude

· Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department

· Requires employee to rarely type and use a computer and other office equipment, such as copier, printer, calendar, telephones, etc.

· Requires operation of heavy such as welding tools on a constant frequency and forklift on an occasional frequency

· Able to weld according to Welding Procedure Specification and its parameter requirements

Preferred Education

· High School Diploma

· Welding School

Required Experience & Skills

· Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe, structural and vessel materials

· Must pass a 3G test for vessel/tower or 6G test pipe

· Minimum of 1 year of related experience

Preferred Training & Certifications

· Certification to weld on pipe or plate

Physical Demands

· Requires employee to stand for at least 90% of the time

· Requires employee to sit for at least 10% of the time

· Requires employee to frequently inspect equipment, climb stairs or ladders and must be able to maintain balance on stairs or ladders without assistance.

· Must be able to communicate and respond to coworkers and emergency cues/alarms, in person and on the telephone, including use of mobile devices

· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

· Requires work in outdoor conditions, including all weather conditions & unairconditioned facility

· Requires work on loud environment

· Requires moving and maintaining self constantly in different positions, stoop, kneel, crouch to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

· Must wear all required PPE, including fire-retardant clothing, helmets, face shields, hearing protection, safety goggles, steel-toed boots, as applicable.
