Job Description The Accounting Clerk II performs diverse clerical accounting tasks, including processing, recording, and maintaining financial and statistical records. Job Duties Collect, review, and record receivable payments and revenues from various sources, including revenues received by campus departments, research grants, travel reimbursements, petty cash, and/or student payments for tuition/fees, tuition contracts & exemptions, collection agencies, as well as other miscellaneous items. Process, record, and maintain all incoming and outgoing bank wires ( EFT / ACH ) and to the financial system ( SAP ) and student system (Banner). Daily reconciling of cash, payment receipts, and journal vouchers; sometimes handling multiple balances. Prepare daily bank deposit ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Recording of payment adjustments for returned items, third party agency payments, and refund check cancellations. Develop and maintain files related to departmental deposits, payment system reports for balancing, the distribution of payroll checks, miscellaneous check reimbursements. Prepare documents for storage. Monitor the Bursar email box. Respond to emails received from customers regarding departmental deposit or account issues, and/or other SBS related processes in a timely manner. Provide service to university departments, staff, and students regarding departmental accounts and/or student accounts. Research, analyze, and problem solve issues and/or inquiries regarding department or student accounts. Additional Information to Applicants Able to work evenings and weekends during peak periods.
