Job Description:
We are a small-production, premium winery, looking for a Brand Ambassador to join our team. This is a part time job 3-4 days a week with one weekend day.
The Brand Ambassador is responsible for promoting our wines to the public and will assist with the tasting and sale of wine at the winery, and sometimes on the road, to maximize sales and achieve annual goals all while executing best-in-class customer service within all DTC Channels.
Guest Experience – 70%:
• Greeting visitors as they arrive on property.
• Providing relevant information on wines, techniques, history and responding to visitors’ questions.
• Host travel initiatives such as private in-home tastings, road shows, and events to expand the winery’s presence.
• Effectively selling our wines through engagement and development of relationships with our customers.
• Conducting each sale from bottle to delivery. This means overseeing the entire sale through to customer receipt, including any issues that may arise.
• Acting as an ambassador to Napa, by referring other wineries and local restaurants to our guests.
• Assisting in the opening/closing procedures for daily tasting room sales.
• Maintaining a friendly, warm and clean tasting room environment (inside room and outdoor areas).
• Accurately collect guest data and preferences. Take and record sales and shipping details, customer contact information and account notes before, during and after guests visit the estate.
• Writing and sending after every client visit a follow up thank you note.
• Maintain a professional and positive appearance/demeanor at all times and in all instances.
• Assisting in the execution on all on-site events, including but not limited to winery dinners, member events, group lunches.
• Assist guests with wine and retail purchasing decisions.
• Take ownership of entire guest experience. From time of booking to follow-up outreach and everything in between.
• Inform guests of the membership and benefits; recruit new members.
Admin Support – 30%
• Write POS materials and correspondence.
• Strong attention to detail, strong multi-tasking skills, and follow-through.
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism, the ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information and/or situations and the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
• Answering the telephone in a professional, timely and friendly manner, relaying all messages to appropriate staff members.
• Assist in all daily hospitality duties. Responsible for wine, stemware, tabletop set-up and clean up.
• Cleaning, organizing, and re-stocking tasting room.
• Ensuring that all order forms are up-to-date and accurate.
• Working as a member of the DTC team on regular promotions and on-site/off-site events to achieve annual sales goals (e.g. sales call campaigns).
• Learn and master our POS, CRM, and reservation systems.
• Convert inquiries into reservations.
• Be responsive and gracious in solving customer issues and/or complaints.
• Participate in team efforts and perform additional duties as needed.
Professional Requirements:
• 1-3 years’ experience in a proven sales/hospitality/events environment, preferable within luxury goods world. Proven experience and ability to work within teams.
• Genuine passion for building relationships with people, while also able to support business needs.
• Ability to work harmoniously and effectively in a small team environment with a willingness to help where help is needed.
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
• Read and interpret documents such as memos, instructions, policies, and manuals.
• Present information effectively to groups of customers and/or employees and participate in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Tremendous accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of the job, with an overall commitment to excellence.
• Ability to travel.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Logic:
• Utilize common sense understanding to multiple tasks, analyze and solve practical problems.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks and projects, work both independently and as part of a team.
• Adapt to frequent changes in the work environment.
Computer Skills:
• Complete computer skills including e-mail and internet.
• Competency in Word, Excel, and database activities. WineDirect, Ship Compliant and Wineshipping systems fluency a plus. Google Suite experience a plus.
Compensation:
• Hourly Range: $28 - $32/hr.
• Commission on sales.
• Wine club sign up bonus.
