Core Responsibilities:

    \n
  • Monitor and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • \n
  • Revises purchase orders as needed to support production schedule.
  • \n
  • Manage all purchasing requirements and exception messages driven by ERP.
  • \n
  • Request quotes from suppliers (cost and lead time) based on supplier capabilities and inclusion on Approved Vendor List.
  • \n
  • Obtain Quality approvals for specific part/operation/process prior to transmitting purchase orders to suppliers.
  • \n
  • Manage purchase orders to ensure date accuracy is maintained and correct information flows through ERP system to supplier scorecards.
  • \n
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve any issues or discrepancies in order fulfillment.
  • \n
  • Evaluate supplier performance and provide feedback to the purchasing team to help improve future purchasing decisions.
  • \n
  • Actively track expected supplier deliveries daily to confirm adherence to planned schedule. When deviations occur, proactively share information obtained with internal stakeholders including earliest recovery date from supplier.
  • \n
  • Creation and distribution of shipping documentation (when required).
  • \n
  • Cross-train with colleagues in Purchasing group regarding suppliers and specific purchase order processes for direct materials and MRO in order to provide coverage and support during scheduled vacations or absence.
  • \n
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including but not limited to order confirmations and delivery goods in transit.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as operations, production, and logistics, to gather information on material requirements and expedite urgent requests.

Qualifications:

    \n
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • \n
  • High attention to detail and quality in all aspects of work.
  • \n
  • Previous experience with ERP systems.
  • \n
  • Ability to react quickly to schedule changes and re-prioritize parts at vendors.
  • \n
  • Investigate ways to reduce overall costs for the organization by identifying potential new suppliers as well as working with existing suppliers and internal stakeholders on other opportunities such as lot sizing.
  • \n
  • Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects and deadlines.
  • \n
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential to ensure that concise and timely information is shared with all internal/external stakeholders.
  • \n
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • \n
  • Considered highly desirable:
  • \n
  • Prior experience with outside services in a manufacturing environment
  • \n
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology effectively and efficiently to manage both individual workload and documents in a fast-paced environment.
  • \n
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and ability to create documents, reports and briefing materials in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • \n

Education Requirements:

  • BS Degree Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred.
