Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Private Primary Care Group

We are a growing, physician-led primary care group with multiple thriving locations throughout the Atlanta metro area. Committed to patient-centered care and operational excellence, our practice is headquartered in Atlanta and is actively seeking a seasoned COO to join our executive team.

About the Candidate We Seek:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Operating Officer with a strong background in private practice operations and a proven track record of growing healthcare businesses. The ideal candidate will possess the strategic vision and operational acumen to scale our organization while serving as a key liaison between our private practice and the major healthcare systems across the Atlanta area.

This individual must be:

• Entrepreneurial and growth-focused , with a "capitalist" mindset—capable of identifying new revenue opportunities, optimizing operations, and scaling infrastructure.
• Deeply familiar with private practice dynamics , including provider management, patient flow, billing optimization, and compliance.
• Experienced in navigating and negotiating with large healthcare systems , building partnerships that benefit our practice and patients.
• An effective communicator and leader , able to work seamlessly between physicians, administrative teams, and external partners.

About the Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, who is a physician, the COO will serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, sitting between the CEO and the Director of Operations. This individual will provide high-level oversight across all business functions, with a particular focus on financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.

While a CFO background is not required, we are seeking someone with strong financial acumen who can lead budgeting, forecasting, and overall business strategy. You’ll work closely with clinical and administrative leadership, including the Director of Operations, an excellent administrator who will benefit from a partner with deep financial insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide executive oversight across operations, finance, and business development.
• Lead and mentor management staff, including the Director of Operations and departmental managers.
• Drive financial performance: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and profitability analysis.
• Collaborate with the CEO on strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
• Identify and implement operational improvements and cost-control strategies.
• Partner with clinical leadership to ensure alignment between business goals and patient care delivery.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in healthcare administration, preferably in a multi-site primary care or specialty practice.
• Strong financial background – ability to analyze, interpret, and act on financial data at a high level.
• Executive presence with a collaborative, hands-on leadership style.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and scaling operations.
• MBA, MHA, or similar advanced degree preferred.
