Salary: DOE

The Equipment Operator operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, or grade tractors.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches
• Receive construction materials unload or deliver them to work site.
• Identify faults in equipment and take measures to fix them.
• Carryout minimal repairs on machinery when necessary.
• Adhere to safety regulations and report hazards to supervisor.
• Perform maintenance routine on equipment.
• Perform physical activities like kneeling, crawling, jumping and lifting excess of 50 pounds.
• Inspect working environment even before work begins to ensure that it is safe.
• Establish a good working relationship on site.
• Performs Laborer duties when operation of equipment is not needed.
• Performs related duties as assigned
• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures

Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:

• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities
• Excellent mechanical skills are necessary
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Must be able to read gauges, dials and other indicator, and adjust them as necessary.
• You must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers on a busy construction site.

Physical Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience

• You must coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to guide equipment in tight places.
• Must have the ability and be willing to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed space and heights up to 80 feet as well.
• Construction projects take place at all hours of the day or night, so schedules might include late nights and overtime hours. You should be willing to accommodate a schedule that can require weekend work as well
