SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM Job Corps is a government-funded vocational training program dedicated to ending the cycle of wage disparity by providing young adults with industry standard certifications.

Job Summary: The
Culinary Arts Teacher Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in order to prepare students for a career in the food industry.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation.
- Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning.
- Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.

- Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
- Complete Evaluations of Student Progress (ESP's) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested.
- Maintains confidentiality but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff. Ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.
- Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
- Meets individually with students assigned at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes.
- Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
- Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders.
- Records daily attendance.
- Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms.
- Responsible for ensuring that the equipment and supplies are cared for.
- Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
- Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations.
- Assists Manager during scheduled inventory.
- Prepares reports such as student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly student evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum: Must Have Vocational Teaching Credential or be able to obtain within 6 months of hire. Must have practical experience in subject/trade area. Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives.
Preferred: Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience.
Knowledge: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in adolescent students; of housekeeping techniques and management; to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
Salary Description
$66,560 - $75,000 annually
