Job Purpose: The Deputy Chief Diversity Officer (Deputy Chief) supports APA's mission to promote psychological science and knowledge for societal benefit, emphasizing equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDI). Under the Chief Diversity Officer, this role provides strategic leadership, manages EDI initiatives, and works to integrate EDI across the organization and psychology field. Key Responsibilities: Manage APA's EDI strategy and supervise a team responsible for its implementation and evaluation. Coordinate with various APA departments to prioritize and support organizational EDI efforts. Champion innovative models and thought leadership in fostering healthy, inclusive workplaces. Position Details: This is a time-limited role ending December 31, 2025. Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology, Public Health, or related fields. 10-15 years of success in EDI program design, management, and evaluation. Experience in strategic planning, partnership development, and change management. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with virtual meeting platforms like Zoom preferred. Responsibilities: Lead development of a science-based EDI framework rooted in human rights and diversity science. Develop and implement strategies to dismantle racism and promote racial equity. Support staff with guidance, education, and resources to embed EDI principles. Assess and report on EDI impact, tracking metrics and outcomes. Collaborate across APA to address EDI challenges beyond the EDI Office. Innovate approaches to societal issues affecting marginalized groups. Represent the CDO in meetings and conduct research on best practices. Other Duties: Engage in activities promoting APA's goals. Perform duties as assigned by the CDO.
