Job Description

Position: Employment Attorney (Principal or Counsel) Location Options: Seattle, Spokane, Portland, Washington D.C., or New York City Direct Counsel seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney for a leadership role within a well-regarded law firm’s Labor, Employment & Immigration practice group. Ideal candidates bring 7-10 years of employment law experience, with a focus on management-side representation and expertise in employment agreements, wage and hour compliance, employee leave/ADA accommodations, separation agreements, and policies. About the Role: This attorney will provide counsel on key employment matters, including compliance, handbook creation, and separation agreements, while actively collaborating with attorneys across the firm’s offices. The firm emphasizes a collegial environment, fostering professional growth and support for pro bono and community service work. Responsibilities: Advise clients on complex employment issues, including wage/hour laws, terminations, and leave accommodations Prepare and negotiate employee and independent contractor agreements Collaborate with a nationwide team on multi-jurisdictional employment matters Contribute to firm initiatives around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Qualifications: 7-10 years of employment law experience; litigation experience required Portable book of business required NY State Bar admission required; CA admission a plus Strong academic credentials, excellent writing and analytical skills Enthusiasm for team collaboration and mentorship Compensation: Annualized salary range: $200,000 to $350,000 Compensation adjusted based on experience, education, and other job-related factors.
