Job Description

Reports to: District Manager of "The UPS Stores"

Position Summary:

The Supervisor is to lead, direct, and oversee store operations and ensure performance expectations are met. This is to be done according to company policies while ensuring the store is representative of our company culture and values. The Supervisor is responsible for the development and execution of short-term tactical goals.

Supervisor Focus and Responsibility/Development Priorities
  • Ensure operational execution expectations are met at The UPS Store
  • Ensure that the UPS Store Franchise Policies are followed.
  • Report the status of the store to the General Manager..
  • Oversee assigned projects within specific timelines and guidelines
  • Hold store associates accountable to all job requirements and overall performance.
  • Actively develop team members at the store level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute best practices instituted by The UPS Store Franchise and the District Manager:
  • Customer service expectations
  • Day-to-day operations (utilization of a Daily Operations Guide)
  • Staff development (coaching, training, etc)
  • Display and signage standards
  • Merchandising and store appearance standards
  • Housekeeping standards
  • Backroom controls
  • Culture: Lead by example in support of Kabelin's Core Values
  • Maintain effective use of Trello Boards and Google Drive to enhance Communication with General Manager, Owners and team members.
  • Reinforce packaging requirements for all team members to ensure no damage occurs during transit of customer's items.
  • Ensure all package requirements are communicated with the UPS driver at time of pickup (Example: High-value items signed by driver)
  • Assist customers and train team members with coping, faxing, laminating and binding projects.
  • Coordinate print customers with our print specialist and help place orders.
  • Inventory and order supplies
  • Sell and maintain customer mailboxes
  • Obtain a Notary License with the state of Indiana
  • Balance end-of-day drawers.
  • Maintain good relationships with vendors, suppliers & the UPS drivers.

Human Resources, Personnel, and Training
  • Assist District Manager of "The UPS Stores" with hiring, documentation, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, and terminations.
  • Reinforce store-level training for all levels of store staff.
  • Always work on self-development

Knowledge, Skills, and Physical Requirements:
  • Must attend and pass the UPS CO (Center Operator) Training
  • Must have an Indiana Notary License
  • Provide motivation and leadership in promoting such concepts as outlined in the Kabelin Core Values.
  • Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day oversight
  • Place proper priorities on the work to be done.
  • Keep well informed of information that is important to operating the store.
  • Be fair and impartial in dealing with employees and customers.
  • Communicate well with others, and work well with the Ace store team.
  • Ability to delegate
  • High degree of analytical skill.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Maintain a strong technical skill level on computer operational systems that are instrumental to successful store operations and oversight.
  • Must be able to stand for an 8 to 10-hour shift, lift up to 60 pounds, bend down, and reach above your head.
