JOB TYPE : Full Time with full benefits eligibility. All compensation details will depend solely on location.

LOCATION: Muncie, Indiana.

COMPENSATION : This role pay's a competitive hourly rate. This is a Non-exempt position with plenty of opportunities for overtime paid at time and a half. Per diem will be paid for those outside the specified distance from their home of record. Mileage and other reimbursements are included as well.

POSITION SUMMARY : This is a project-based position, and you should demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all construction activities, means and methods to ensure projects are completed in accordance with all applicable requirements including standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedules. What you will be responsible for: (Disclaimer: The lists below are not all inclusive and may vary based on location)

  • Ensures that all work performed by construction contractors is in accordance with all Gas Transmission Standards, project specifications, applicable permits, and safety requirements, and in compliance with all governing federal, state, and local jurisdictional agencies.
  • Accepts or rejects the work as it is completed; however, Inspectors shall always be alert to promptly identify errors and questionable practices to avoid future rejections that could compromise safety, quality, or schedule.
  • Rejects work immediately when there are any deviations from the requirements herein, including safety practices, installation in accordance with approved-for construction drawings, or construction specifications and standards.
  • Documents deviations and immediately advises the appropriate leadership when a serious safety or construction deviation is in progress and Inspector is unable to resolve such deviation with the construction contractor’s job foreman.
  • Reports any dispute or disagreement between the construction contractor and the Inspector immediately to the appropriate leadership for action as required.
  • Maintains a daily status report recorded in Unifier DPR.

Duties you can expect day-to-day :

  • Perform inspection of all contractors’ duties on pipe replacement projects including squeezing, grounding, purging, and PE pipe fitting installation of ½” through 8”.
  • Ensures that equipment and personnel stay on the right-of-way.
  • Complete and maintain all Paxon and client specific Operator Qualifications.
  • Exercise your authority to STOP WORK as required to prevent on-site work mishaps and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner.
  • Perform Pipe-to-Soil reads in accordance with clients Standards using Digital Multi Meter (DMM) and Copper-Copper Sulfate Portable Reference Electrodes to actualize readings.
  • Ensures receipt of approved-for-construction drawings depicting right-of-way, all permits and documents describing environmental commitments and requirements, rules and regulations regarding fish and wildlife, and demonstrates knowledge of any other special provisions or restrictions.
  • Prepares the appropriate reports for the assigned activity and submits reports to the Chief Inspector at the designated time.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

You must have the following: (Minimum)

  • A combination of experience in natural gas pipeline inspection, industrial construction, and pipeline construction of at least four (4) years.
  • You must be comfortable communicating with clients and providing excellent customer service.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with ASME B31.8

  • NACE CIP Level 1
  • API 1169 Certification
