Industrial Plant Safety Manager Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Plant Safety Manager to join our team and lead efforts in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment within our industrial facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial safety protocols, risk management, and regulatory compliance. This individual will play a key role in developing and implementing safety programs, conducting regular inspections, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees.
Key Job Responsibilities & Skills: - Develop, implement, and continually improve comprehensive safety programs and policies tailored to the specific needs of the industrial plant.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and regulatory changes to ensure the safety program remains current and effective.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations applicable to the industrial plant.
- Act in conjunction with management team as a point of contact for regulatory agencies, conducting audits, and addressing compliance issues promptly.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of plant operations, identifying potential hazards, and recommending measures to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement risk reduction strategies and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Develop safety programs to set expectations for visitors.
- Promote a strong safety culture through communication, training initiatives, and continuous awareness campaigns.
- Lead investigations into safety incidents, near misses, and accidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, investigations, corrective actions, OSHA compliance, required testing, and historical data related to employee reports of findings, etc.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring all personnel are trained and familiar with emergency procedures.
- Coordinate drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the industrial plant, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to address and resolve safety deficiencies.
- Prepare and submit regular safety reports to management, summarizing key performance indicators, incident trends, and safety program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to safety activities.
- Train, facilitate, document, review, update, implement, and monitor compliance for JSAs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree and relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH) are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Safety Manager in an industrial setting.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
