Job Description **POSITION SUMMARY**
Responsible for inventory and equipment control, supply distribution and hazardous waste management.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- **Subject Matter Expertise:** Oversee the storage and distribution of supplies and equipment; Distribute Equipment to locations as appropriate. Maintain a master list of equipment by serial number for inventory and issued items. Monitor and receive return of equipment. Coordinate repair or maintenance needs of equipment as appropriate.
- **Operations:** In conjunction with Purchasing Specialist monitor inventory needs of company, places orders as needed with designated vendors. Insure adequate supply is available to meet company/patient needs. Maintain established levels of supplies and equipment. Monitor unusual requests and determine frequency; report any concerns or need to modify inventory with appropriate personnel. Maintain department records, reports, and files as needed. Receive and verify orders and forward information for payment to appropriate person.
- **Quality:** Unpack and store items, deliver items to designated areas. Forward packing slips/invoices to accounting for payment. Insure material safety data sheets are reviewed/requested as needed. Handle in an organized manner within one day of receipt. Match and forward packing slips/invoices to accounting for payment within one day of receipt. Maintain the cleanliness of work areas as required.
- **Regulatory Compliance Oversight:** Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs/practices, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Interpret and implement established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- **Performance Improvement:** Assist in analyzing business equipment/supply needs, study new products, equipment, techniques and services. Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meeting, and workshops.
- **Professionalism:** Adhere to all professional, legal and accrediting standards. Attend all staff meeting and educational training programs as directed or requested. Act professionally and in accordance with company policies, procedures, code of conduct and all Federal, State and local laws. Perform in a courteous, professional, tidy, and effective manner to promote customer service relations with both internal employees and external customers.
- **Other duties as assigned.**
Job Requirements **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education** : High school graduate or equivalent, previous experience in supply/materials management
**Skills** :
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
**Education** : Supply/materials management in healthcare
**Skills** : Experience with computerized inventory systems
