HTI is searching for a Laser Scanning Technician for a leading engineering consulting firm specializing in industrial projects, providing detailed design and construction documentation for both new facilities and retrofits. The multidisciplinary team, consisting of mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, and electrical engineers, works closely with clients, vendors, and contractors to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that drive industrial growth and innovation.

Candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Tallahassee, FL or Bainbridge, GA . This position requires up to 50% travel , with approximately 80% of that travel within the Southeastern United States.

What You Need:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in laser scanning or a related field (e.g., surveying, geospatial imaging, 3D modeling).
• Experience with laser scanning hardware and software is required.
• Background in surveying or civil/structural fieldwork strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including out-of-state assignments.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort working independently in the field.
• Strong computer skills for post-processing and data management.

What Your Role Will Look Like:

• Conduct on-site 3D laser scans of mechanical systems, process equipment, and facility layouts in industrial plants.
• Register and process scan data into accurate point clouds to support design, retrofit, or construction documentation.
• Develop 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings based on scanned environments, focused on mechanical applications.
• Work alongside engineers, project managers, and CAD teams to deliver field-verified technical data for active projects.
• Travel regionally for scanning assignments (typically short-term) and support site documentation activities.
