Low-Voltage / Fiber Technician

Location: Timberville, VA
Start Date:   December 8
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled  Low-Voltage / Fiber Technician to support cabling, fiber, and telecommunications projects in the Timberville, VA area. This role involves working alongside and/or assisting the lead technician on low-voltage infrastructure installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test low-voltage and fiber optic cables
• Install Category 5 & Category 6 cabling
• Install outlets, pull cable, perform fire stopping, and complete pre-termination tasks
• Organize, dress, and label cables to industry standards
• Terminate, assemble, and install 8-pin modular connectors, coax connectors, and light crimp connectors
• Remove abandoned or replaced cables
• Determine equipment/closet layouts and install hardware such as backboards, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures
• Work as part of a project team and help resolve job-site issues
• Follow industry standards and company procedures
• Submit required paperwork on time
• Adhere to all safety guidelines

Qualifications

• Experience with low-voltage, cabling, or fiber installations (preferred)
• Ability to read instructions, follow diagrams, and work with hand tools
• Strong attention to detail and cable management
• Ability to lift, climb, and work in various environments
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

Work Location

• On-site in Timberville, VA
• Near Harrisonburg, Winchester, and Staunton

Experience:

• Low voltage: 5 years (Required)
• Cabling: 5 years (Required)
• Telecommunication: 5 years (Required)
