We are looking for a dynamic Medical Billing Specialist to join our Gentle Heart Recovery Corporate Office team. The Medical Billing Specialist provides essential support to the organization by working directly with insurance companies to ensure accurate and timely payment for all services rendered.

*This is a Monday-Friday, In-Person position*

JOB DUTIES:

• Verification of insurance and benefits for HMO, Medicaid and Commercial payers.
• Claim submission and timely follow up.
• Handle payment postings.
• Verification and reconciliation of electronic medical records against billing records.
• Conduct monthly and end of year reconciliations and closings.
• Performs other duties as needed related to the collection the patient receivables.
• Communicates with Managed Care Organizations when necessary.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of 2 years related experience
•Or Associate's degree in a related field plus a minimum of 1 year related experience

SKILLS
•Proven intermediate Excel, spreadsheet and word-processing skills
•Excellent communication and problem solving skills
•Exceptionally detailed orientated
•Proven ability to multi-task Urban Recovery
