This position is responsible for providing retail sales and service of liquor, wine and beer to the public, while maintaining proper inventory levels and stock cleanliness.
Primary shifts are: Friday 4:30 to 10:15 pm, Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday 4:00 to 10:15 pm and Sunday 11:00 am to 5:15 pm. Some weeknight shifts may also be available.
- Operate the cash register in accordance with established tendering policies, including ringing up a sale and exchanging money. Check customer identification for verification of legal drinking age in compliance with applicable laws and determine whether or not to complete the sale.
- Stocking all liquor, wine, beer, and accessories on the proper shelves and in the coolers by rotating stock according to date and determining quantities to display and when.
- Assist customers in locating a product and completing the sale. Also provide carry-out service.
- Perform light housekeeping including vacuuming, empty trash and proper disposal of cardboard.
- Cleaning shelves and bottles.
- Balance cash drawer and total checks; reconcile and prepare daily sales report and bank deposit; research discrepancies.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Must be 21 years of age or higher.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, customer service and retail/cashiering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties listed above.
- Basic mathematical aptitude.
- Customer service skills including the ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
- Demonstrated ability to develop positive working relationships and maintain a respectful work environment.
- Ability to handle stress and/or stressful situations.
