Access Healthcare Direct is seeking a per diem / prn nurse RN Long Term Acute Care for a per diem / prn nursing job in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Kindred Hospital Chattanooga is a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) facility providing extended, high-acuity medical care for patients who require complex treatment beyond a traditional hospital stay. The team specializes in caring for medically fragile, step-down–level patients, including those requiring ventilator and tracheostomy support.

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join the Kindred Hospital Chattanooga team on a PRN basis. This role involves caring for high-acuity patients in an aggressive step-down environment. Ideal candidates have strong Med Surg experience and are comfortable managing complex patients with ventilators, trachs, and advanced medical needs.

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to LTAC/step-down patients.
• Manage patients requiring ventilator support, tracheostomy care, complex wound care , and other advanced therapies.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with orders and facility protocols.
• Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, rehab staff, case management, and other clinical team members.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, care expectations, and recovery.
• Support and maintain safety, infection control, and quality care standards.

• Active RN license in the state of Tennessee.
• Minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience required.
• Critical Care or Step-Down experience preferred .
• Competence and confidence with vents, trachs, and high-acuity patients.
• Current BLS (required); ACLS preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced LTAC environment.
