Position Summary & Duties: The Process/Project Engineer is a contract-to-direct position working for a specialty chemical client in the Plaquemine, LA area.


The Process/Project Engineer leads capital projects and troubleshoots existing processes at a facility in Plaquemine, LA. This role manages projects ranging from minor maintenance to $2.5MM capital improvements, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.


Process/Project Engineer Responsibilities
•Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration.
•Act as a process or project engineer on multiple concurrent projects.
•Troubleshoot DCS and PLC systems; develop control narratives for process changes.
•Create and maintain project documents (scopes, budgets, schedules, vendor specifications).
•Develop/refine project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
•Specify and manage equipment and resources (employees, contractors, consultants).
•Participate in PHA/HAZOP, regulatory activities, and commissioning processes.
•Provide technical support, project updates, and ensure project goals are met.

Qualifications:
Process/Project Engineer Requirements
•Education: Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering.
•Experience: 3-8 years in chemical plant engineering design or manufacturing; 3+ years in RMP/PSM environments.
•Knowledge: Familiarity with PHA, HAZOP, MOCs, piping/equipment codes, chemical safety standards, and project management (PMP preferred).
•Technical Skills: Proficient in electro-mechanical systems, pneumatics, automated controls, DCS, Microsoft Projects, and SAP.
•Location: Must be located within daily commuting distance of Donaldsonville, LA. Highly qualified non-local candidate may receive per diem until they are hired direct.
