Our community based organization is offering a great opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to further their career. We focus on quality of care and aim to provide each patient with ample time to speak to our NP’s to diagnose illness. Our organization has been well actively expanding out care model for over 65 years and we provide mental health treatment services to over 4,000 New Yorkers every year. You would be working in the Bronx or Manhhattan and treating patients suffering from various forms of substance abuse disorders, trauma, and serious chronic mental illness. Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Location: Manhattan NY
Salary: $150,000 to $155,000 + full benefits
Responsibilities:
Performing psychiatric evaluations and medication management of mostly adult patients
Work in a group to accurately help a large percentage of community based/ homeless patients
Referring patients out if they need higher levels of treatment
Orders lab tests and interprets results
Provides patient with education on mental illness
Must collaborate with a team of medical Providers to ensure complete care to everyone
Review medical history and prescribe medication accordingly
Involved in team meetings and interaction with social workers
Providing some crisis intervention services
Requirements:
Must be board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
2-3 Years Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner experience strongly preferred
Active DEA license required
Active York State PMHNP license
Strong work ethic
Graduate of accredited Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program
