JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Quality Inspector, you will inspect and test finished products and sub-assemblies of pressure, temperature, and liquid flow switches and sensors for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. You will perform mechanical inspections of components to ensure they match engineering drawings, test procedures, and specifications. Collaborating closely with teams from Quality, Manufacturing, Design, and Sales, you will support the inspection process. Keeping accurate records and creating reports is an important part of this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Final Assembly & In-Process Inspection (80% of duties):
  • Perform visual inspections and use standard tools and test equipment on production parts.
  • Conduct tests to ensure products meet size, performance, mechanical, and electrical requirements.
  • Inspect assemblies during production processes like soldering and passivation.
  • Record test data and results in inspection reports.
  • Mechanical & Receiving Inspection (20% of duties):
  • Conduct quality inspections on parts from the machine shop and purchased materials.
  • Understand engineering requirements and match test results with ATPs to confirm product compliance.

  • General Duties:
    1. Understand engineering requirements and compare test results with test procedures to confirm products meet standards.
    2. Prepare and maintain required inspection reports and records.
    3. Assist other inspectors as directed.
    4. Work with Quality Engineers and Managers to resolve issues.
    5. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive work environment.
    6. Complete inspection tasks as directed by Planners and Supervisors.
    7. Document issues in Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
    8. Maintain high-quality standards with minimal errors.
    9. Perform related tasks requiring equal or lesser skill.
    10. Undertake other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Quality Manager.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Compliance & Industry Standards:
    1. ITAR compliant.
    2. Familiar with AS9100 and AS9102 aerospace standards.
    3. Ability to consistently follow company quality standards and work instructions.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    1. Skilled in using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, surface tables, height gauges, drop indicators, and thread gauges.
    2. Able to understand test requirements and set up test benches for product testing.
    3. Able to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
    4. Familiar with applying GD&T principles according to ASME Y14.5 standards.
  • Language & Communication:
    1. Proficient in reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English.
  • Software Proficiency:
    1. Familiar with Windows and MS Office applications, notably Outlook and Excel.
  • Soft Skills:
    1. Excellent time management, adaptability, and flexibility.
    2. Able to solve problems independently with minimal guidance.
    3. Professional attitude with a strong focus on teamwork.
  • Availability:
    1. Willing to work overtime as needed to support business needs.
