Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician to join our team at a leading food manufacturing company. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing refrigeration systems, ensuring optimal performance to preserve product quality and comply with food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial refrigeration systems, ammonia-based systems, and general HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems used in the food production and storage facilities.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues within refrigeration systems and perform necessary repairs.
• Monitor and adjust temperature controls to maintain proper storage conditions for seafood products.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, and other refrigeration equipment.
• Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and other safety regulations regarding refrigeration and hazardous materials.
• Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot refrigeration failures promptly.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Work closely with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
• Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper handling of refrigerants and hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or HVAC/R training preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration maintenance, preferably in food manufacturing or cold storage facilities.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and ammonia-based systems (if applicable).
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Knowledge of PLC controls and automated refrigeration systems is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in cold environments and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
