Job Description

Jefferson Wells seeks an experienced Senior Indirect Tax Analyst to join our team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners, tackling a range of responsibilities in indirect tax compliance and strategy. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the company’s compliance with tax laws, optimizing processes, and identifying opportunities to minimize tax exposure. This role is Onsite in a western Milwaukee suburb.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and ensure the timely and accurate filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax returns and reconciliations.
• Manage and maintain exemption certificate software and tax determination systems, resolving any identified tax exposures.
• Respond to tax-related inquiries from internal departments and external business partners.
• Support governmental indirect tax audits and assist in audit defense strategies.
• Perform technical research to document findings and stay informed of tax law changes affecting the company.
• Collaborate on month-end close adjustments to ensure deadlines are met.
• Oversee the fixed asset master and ensure compliance with applicable tax rules.
• Monitor and address tax implications of international transactions.
• Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to management for minimizing tax liabilities.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in sales and use, property, and Canadian tax within a corporate or public accounting environment.

Preferred:

• Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with OneSource Tax Determination and Compliance software.
• Familiarity with certificate management tools.
