Summary This role will require an experienced leader with knowledge and experience in the implementation of best practices in logistics, distribution, warehousing, and inventory management. This role is responsible for leading a team in deploying Simplot's finished goods inventory throughout North America to best satisfy demand at the lowest distribution cost. This role requires a leader with the capability to facilitate and drive change in a fast paced and ever-changing environment leveraging his/her strong interpersonal skills. Key to success in this position is the ability to work within and across the organization at all levels creating value and buy-in as a key change facilitator for the business. This role is responsible for managing inventory levels at 30+ Warehouse and Forward Distribution Centers (FDC's) throughout North America (including the United States, Canada, and Mexico). These Warehouses and FDC's are comprised of both Simplot owned locations and multiple third-party provider locations. Effective relationships with those third-party providers will be essential to the success of the individual in this role. Key Responsibilities + Work collaboratively across the organization to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities within the planning, deployment and logistics/distribution functions. + Responsible for accurate budget forecasting and continual evaluation of transportation costs by mode which may lead to real time alterations of distribution plans to minimize costs without introducing service risk. Enable RFP process for truck and rail contracts to ensure costs and service are balanced. + Work collaboratively with Warehousing management at 30+ locations to manage inventory and capacity levels by location.
