ServiceNow IT Project Manager

Department: IT PMO

Location: Hybrid - Newark, NJ

Onsite participation required - typically 2 days a week. Candidates not located within a commutable distance must be willing to travel as needed.

Role Type: Full-Time

Duration: 6-month Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee large-scale IT projects for electric utility clients. This role involves managing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and completion. The IT Project Manager will ensure that all project goals are met while adhering to budget, timeline, and quality standards. The position will involve significant leadership responsibilities, managing project teams, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and contractors. This role requires an individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with a strong background in utility IT projects and expertise in managing large-scale implementations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage project teams, including internal staff, contractors, and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of IT projects.
• Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, and risk management.
• Drive the successful end-to-end delivery of ServiceNow Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules.
• Provide leadership across multiple disciplines, ensuring collaboration and alignment with business needs.
• Develop detailed project management plans and maintain project documentation.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress, risks, and milestones.
• Manage project financials, track expenditures, and forecast monthly accruals.
• Collaborate with project teams to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions that align with business goals.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of IT Project Management experience, including managing ServiceNow HAM/SAM projects.
• Strong experience in utility IT projects.
• Proficiency in managing project financials, timelines, scope, and risk.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Smartsheet.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong customer-facing skills and experience interacting with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice-to-Haves:

• PMP or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Experience working with both onshore and offshore teams.
• Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
