Base pay range $80,000.00/yr - $100,000.00/yr Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: Q CELLS Home Energy Solutions seeks a Solar Designer to generate solar blueprints with specialized expertise in the Home Energy System division. As a Solar Designer, you will also be in charge of ensuring the scope of work is accurate via both a thorough account review and production modeling adjustments as needed. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional with strong analytical skills, great attention to detail, and problem solving and communication skills. This position will be based out of our office in Irvine, CA, with an in-office schedule that is set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with company policies and procedures. Responsibilities Utilize AutoCAD to generate solar blueprints adhering to jurisdictional and utility requirements, and to the requirements of either Enfin or Lightreach. Become a subject matter expert on the Qcells Q.Home battery system, Q home modules, and pairings with other product offerings for residential applications. Identify factors affecting the scope of work, including project cost and installation complexity. Collaborate with regional construction managers to establish rapport and maintain direct communication between engineering and field operations. Work with sales organizations to overcome roadblocks and improve efficiency of future sales. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with a minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in an engineering role, including 3-5 years’ experience in solar system design and engineering. Experience with AutoCAD. Strong understanding of NEC and CRC code. Experience with permitting processes with local authorities having jurisdiction. Impeccable attention to detail. Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Detailed, analytical thinker with the ability to recruit and lead quantitative talent. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present credit management, vision and strategy in internal and external forums.
