Supply Chain Manager
\nVanwin Coatings- The leading specialty coating service contractor in Virginia is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Supply Chain Manager. Vanwin Coatings is a Chesapeake, Virginia based company that specializes in Industrial Marine, MIL-Spec Coatings, and Powder Coating Services. As a growing company with a collaborative and dynamic work environment, Vanwin is seeking a purchasing manager to be an integral part of our team and share in the success of our expanding business.
\nA Successful Supply Chain Manager will:
\n● Generate, track and coordinate Purchase Orders.
\n● Manage and track internal assets and equipment within the company.
\n● Manage the logistics and coordination of materials and equipment for upcoming projects.
\n● Work with shipping and receiving to develop and implement best practices.
\n● Manage travel and logistics for projects nationwide.
\n● Collaborate with leadership and department managers to identify and address current and future needs for equipment, materials, and products.
\n● Prepare cost reports on a regular basis, assist with financial tracking and forecasting.
\n● Maintain/Implement viable records keeping and project tracking systems.
\n● Identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
\n● Maintain/Develop good working relationships with vendors.
\n● Negotiate best value pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
\n● Administer and manage subcontract agreements.
\n● Work with leadership to develop best practices for material management, purchasing, and contract management.
\n● Coordinate with Maintenance Dept. on asset management and planned upgrades.
\n● Administer a working departmental budget.
\n● Periodically operate as a backup to Admin team for AP, AR, and Payroll.
\n● Be instrumental in the growth and success of Vanwin’s operations.
\nRequired Skills/ Abilities
\n● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
\n● Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
\n● Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
\n● Strong leadership skills with an ability to train others.
\n● Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used within the company.
\n● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
\nEducation / Experience
\n● 3-5 years’ experience- preferably in ship repair, industrial coatings, or federal contracting industries.
\n● Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable on the job training.
\n● High skill level in PC usage including purchasing software, MS Office suite software and accounting software.
\nAdditional Requirements
\n● Must be a US Citizen
\n● Lift 50 pounds repetitively
\n● Good driving record
\n● Valid Driver’s License
\n● Consistent access to reliable transportation
\n● Clean Background that would enable military base access
