Job Summary The Vascular Access Nurse plays a crucial role in patient care by inserting Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) and Midline catheters. You will provide essential maintenance and follow-up for these lines and act as a preceptor for RNs who have completed the necessary training. Key Responsibilities: Perform thorough patient assessments. Develop and execute individualized nursing care plans. Take appropriate actions based on identified needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions. Commit to ongoing personal and professional development. Deliver exceptional direct patient care for adults and geriatric populations. Ensure physician orders are obtained, give consent, and accurately document procedures. Qualifications: Education: Completion of a Nursing Program required. Skills: Strong critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently. Able to remain composed in stressful situations. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be obtained within 30 days. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - must be obtained within 6 months. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - must be obtained within 6 months. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - must be obtained within 6 months. Work Experience: Previous training in Vascular Access is required. Licenses: Current nursing license in West Virginia is required.
