Overview Our client is searching for an experienced Corporate Controller/Head of Finance and Accounting with experience overseeing FP&A. While you have undoubtedly mastered the intricacies of an efficient month-end close calendar, our client presents an opportunity for you to embrace new challenges. These challenges include spearheading the modernization of the accounting function, post-acquisition integrations, synthesizing business operations, implementing best-in-class accounting processes, and leading financial operations.
Primary Responsibilities: - Oversees day-to-day financial operations, including Treasury, daily cash requirements management, A/R, A/P, Invoicing, Cash Application, payroll and financial dashboards.
- Manages team in month-end close process, account reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, consolidation, financial statement preparation and financial statement analysis. Responsible for accurate maintenance of financial records, system, and chart of accounts.
- Directs cost accounting function, including standard costing for product/inventory, manufacturing accounting and monthly manufacturing variances.
- Oversees payroll processing.
- Establishes policies and maintains internal controls, including accounting processes: Accounts payable, Sales recognition, Accruals/sales allowances, Inventory variances, Capitalization of fixed assets
- Work closely with financial planning & analysis team on reporting efforts and monthly accruals related to budgeting and forecasting
- Monitor, manage and maintain daily and weekly cash flow as well as projections, as well as manage banking relationships
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to accelerate close timelines, utilizing cloud-based software, expanding your team when needed, and consistent communication with legal and financial system departmental leaders.
- Leads annual audit process, including annual physical inventory and coordinating with external auditors.
- Manages departmental structure, including defining and updating role descriptions for direct reports, recruiting, selecting, training and retaining.
- Establishes and implements short- and long-range department goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Public Accounting/ CPA upbringing
- 13+ years progressive accounting/finance experience
- Product based company - Manufacturing Industry experience
- Experience in a PE-backed environment w/M&A
- Software experience: QuickBooks, NetSuite, Acumatica, Intact, etc.
- Strong GAAP understanding
