This is a full-time on-site role for a Manufacturing Engineer at Hydro Fitting Manufacturing Corporation. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall improvement of the Quality and Production departments, developing and implementing test plans for customer or industry specific requirements, preparing quality documents such as RCCA, AS9100 QMS Procedures, QMS Manual Revisions, Work Instructions, Forms, AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports, AP/QP-PPAP, Process Flow Mapping, Lead Kaizen events, 5S and Six Sigma, In-Process and Final Inspection reports.

You will perform dimensional and visual inspection of aerospace and commercial parts and develop inspection reports for these parts. You will create and update drawing revisions using Solid Works or other CAD software. You will also be responsible for Document Control, Production Planning, and Researching and Interpreting Specifications.

You will make recommendations and prepare reports to help improve the efficiency of our manufacturing and quality control processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements, evaluate production methods, and optimize equipment and resources. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, particularly aerospace industries.

You will actively participate in routine safety meetings and regulatory audits, including AS9100D, NADCAP, DLA.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-10 years experience in an Aerospace Engineering or Quality Control environment
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, assembly, testing, and quality control
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 requirements, NADCAP requirements, AS, MS, NSA, NAS Standards, AS9102, GD&T, Aerospace, APQP-PPAP
  • Expert in reading, interpreting, understanding and creating/editing blueprint drawings of tight tolerance aerospace parts
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing automation systems
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Experience with project management and process optimization
  • Experience in metallurgical properties of Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Titanium and Nickel alloys, and special processes such as Heat Treat, CAD plate, Anodized and FPI
  • Ability to identify and resolve production issues such as under-utilization of equipment, develop OEE and recovery plans
  • Ability to perform periodic testing of fluid fittings (NADCAP Testing Requirements)
  • Expert at performing dimensional inspection of threaded and non-threaded parts utilizing calipers, micrometer, ring gage, plug gages, comparator as needed
  • Ability to utilize and understand Micro Hardness and Tensile Testing equipment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Experience with Epicor ERP System
