Job Description

Position Summary:

The Inventory Planner’s primary responsibility will be to support our field service team ensuring inventory is in stock, on time and at the appropriate levels to keep our systems up and running. They will own planning, forecasting, and coordinating spare parts replenishment to over 20 warehouses globally. This role will also develop inventory cycle count schedules, conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, and support the supply chain team with various other. This is a critical role for the company that will be an integral part in the global supply chain team.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning and replenishment for spare parts
  • Ensure materials are available according to preventative maintenance schedules
  • Communicate with Purchasing department to resolve potential or realized material issues / shortages
  • Communicate internal and external field service teams on part deliveries and part consumption
  • Support ECN’s as needed for system upgrades of installed units
  • Work with management to develop inventory strategies based on product supply needs and inventory management objectives.
  • Ensure production priorities are matched to customer requirements and communicate any late deliveries
  • Interact with quality assurance, purchasing, manufacturing and engineering to ensure product movement meets delivery requirements.
  • Streamline processes to ensure parts allocated accurately factoring demand for field service, production, and R&D.
  • Ensure accurate item data entry to streamline ERP processes
  • Develop additional reporting tools to monitor successful completion of selected metrics
  • Produce reports that evaluate inventory vs shipping costs of regional warehouses and provide areas where improvements can be implemented.
  • Coordinate shipments and prepare customs paperwork as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Experience with Power BI and/or other reporting tools

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience developing SOPs (standard operating procedures)

  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in planning and prioritizing work
  • Effective time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience supporting multiple inventory locations
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in forecasting, planning, inventory management
  • Experience with global logistics preferred
  • Experience with supporting field service teams preferred
  • 3+ years ERP/MRP systems experience required
  • Infor Syteline experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business or related field required

Working Conditions:

Work is performed inside a flex space building consisting of offices, open desk space, laboratory, machine shop, and a manufacturing floor. Level of noise is usually quiet in the office environment and temperature controlled. Noise levels are elevated in the warehouse space where temperatures can vary depending on the outside elements and weather. Travel may be required, including up to 2-8 trips per year to visit suppliers, attend conferences, meetings (customer, investor, and business) and customer sites (hatcheries).
