Job Description Summary
Provides primary care and/or emergent and non-emergent support, including pre-hospital medical evaluation, treatment and stabilization within the scope of practice of the critically ill and injured with the goal of reducing morbidity. Supports existing health services; provides integrated health services in partnership with other health professionals; extends access to health services delivery in underserved and general populations, including primary care, public health, disease management, prevention and wellness, mental health, and dental health; and performs other duties as required. The position is located in the South Shore Hospital Emergency Medical Service (EMS) department.
Job Description
Essential Functions
1. Responds promptly to requests for non–emergent and emergency calls as directed by the MIH Operations Manager in a timely and safe manner.
a. Upon receiving request from the MIH Operations Manager, responds to request in a timely fashion.
a. Documents in the EHR system accurately and timely.
a. Knows location and proper use of all equipment and radios.
a. Performs complete and accurate BLS patient assessments.
a. Assists as ancillary staff performing only those duties within the scope of practice or training.
6. Maintains a good working relationship with fellow employees, community emergency service providers, hospital staff, physicians and other allied health professionals.
a. Represents South Shore Hospital and the MIH Department in a positive, professional manner.
