The Physical Therapy Assistant supports physical therapists by providing treatment to geriatric patients with neurological, orthopedic, and muscular disorders following prescribed plans. This role involves restoring mobility, reducing pain, and promoting healing through therapeutic exercises, prosthetic devices, and patient education. The position includes home care coordination within a community-based Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).
Description
Provides treatment of neurological, orthopedic, and muscular disorders in accordance with treatment plan established by Physical Therapist to provide efficient, effective physical therapy to referred geriatric participants. Utilizes artificial aids such as prosthetic devices, therapeutic exercise techniques, emotional support and educational training to restore mobility and function to participants, reduce pain, and promote healing. Provides home care coordination.
