Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Private Chef to provide high-quality,
customized meals in a private household. Chef will be responsible for planning and preparing
all day-to-day meals as well as holiday meals, dinner parties, business meals for up to 20
guests. Any guests staying on the property may require all daily meals. The ideal candidate is
passionate about food, knowledgeable about various dietary requirements (e.g., gluten-free,
vegan, paleo, keto), and able to prepare creative, seasonal meals using fresh, locally sourced
ingredients. Farm-to-table or greenhouse/gardening experience a plus. Discretion, flexibility,
and professionalism are essential. Opportunity to act as advisor for future culinary business
development.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan weekly and daily menus tailored to the principal’s preferences and dietary
requirements.
Shop for high-quality, organic, and seasonal ingredients, or coordinate with vendors and
farmers’ markets.
Prepare and serve fresh, healthy, and visually pleasing meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner,
snacks, juices).
Handle meal prep and storage, ensuring freshness and food safety standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
Manage and shop for inventory, pantry, and kitchen supplies.
Coordinate meals for special events, holidays, and entertaining guests.
Source high-quality ingredients, supplementing greenhouse produce with items from local
farmers markets or specialty stores.
Accommodate last-minute schedule changes and travel with the principal as needed
(optional).
Qualifications:
Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a private chef or in fine dining establishments.
Knowledge of various cuisines and dietary restrictions (e.g., plant-based, low-FODMAP,
low-carb).
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Food Safety Certification required.
Ability to maintain discretion and uphold client confidentiality.
Valid driver’s license and clean background check (if applicable).
Locations:
Ideal candidate resides in Northeast Ohio (Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown) or Western
Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) to commute to primary residence in Cleveland, OH and secondary
residence in Foxburg, PA. Must be able to travel as needed with owner and stay for periods of
time in Foxburg, PA.
