Job Description:

Continental Tide is seeking a motivated and energetic Project Lead / Site Foreman with AIT (Alteration Installation Team) experience to support ongoing operations in Norfolk, VA . The ideal candidate will make an immediate positive impact by leading technical teams, ensuring quality project execution, and serving as a critical link between senior leadership and the project workforce.

Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • \n Project Planning and Execution: Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of shipboard HM&E or electronic system projects, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
  • \n
  • \n Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth working knowledge of power generation, power transmission, and auxiliary machinery systems to provide technical guidance and ensure project specifications are met.
  • \n
  • \n Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Provide mentorship and support to team members as needed.
  • \n
  • \n Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance processes to guarantee the delivery of high-quality ship systems.
  • \n
  • \n Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.

Experience and Skills
    \n
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or training in ship repair or a related field preferred.
  • \n
  • Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar role in AIT ship repair.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of shipboard systems and equipment.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
  • \n
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • \n
  • Willingness to travel and work in various locations as required.
  • \n
  • Targeted Five (5) to Seven (7) years previous experience overseeing and directing 'Project-Level' initiatives.
  • \n
  • Proven ability to lead a ten (10) to fifteen (15) tradesperson Alteration Installation Team (AIT).
  • \n
  • Experience in directing daily production to attain schedule milestones.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of maintaining QAWB and OQE requirements.
  • \n
  • Experience communicating directly with management, subcontractors, and customers regarding project cost, staffing, and scheduling.
  • \n
  • Background in preparing status reports and ensuring plans adhere to contract specifications.
  • \n
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • \n

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ship alteration/installation processes and procedures
  • \n
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time and within.
  • \n

Security Requirements:
    \n
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and Naval installations.
  • \n
  • Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.
  • \n

Travel Requirements:
    \n
  • Occasional Travel- up to 10% within and outside of the continental United States.
  • \n
  • If a position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. (More information regarding REAL ID can be found: ( -id )

Physical Requirements:
    \n
  • Exposure to open-air environments.
  • \n
  • Required to visit project sites aboard ships and rigs, both onshore and offshore.
  • \n
  • Wear various types of personal protective equipment (PPE), (i.e. ear plugs, safety glasses, hard-hat, steel-toed boots, gloves) as required.
  • \n
  • Site visits may involve standing on a variety of surfaces and angles, bending, crouching, and climbing over obstructions such as scaffolding, ladders, and internal barge or boat structural components.
  • \n
  • Exposure to sound levels exceeding 100 decibels.
  • \n
  • Must possess sufficient visual acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and night vision to inspect marine components and systems, identify defects or irregularities, and safely operate tools and equipment.
  • \n
  • May work in confined spaces with limited ventilation.
  • \n
  • Require prolonged periods of sedentary work, including sitting and/or standing.
  • \n
  • May be required to operate machinery, power tools, and/or heavy equipment.
  • \n
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to exchange and comprehend information.
  • \n
  • Frequent exposure to extreme weather conditions, including high heat and extreme cold.
  • \n
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. or more, depending on the task requirements.
