Join a meaningful initiative that helps New Yorkers access long-term, community-based care through Medicaid. As a Remote Bilingual Client Service Representative, you’ll support the New York Independent Assessor Program (NYIAP), providing crucial guidance and enrollment assistance to individuals and families across the state.
This is a fully remote call center position ideal for professionals fluent in Bengali, Hindi, or Urdu (plus English) who are committed to public service, health equity, and client-centered communication.
Work Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–8:00 PM
Saturday shifts: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM (some required)
You will be assigned an 8-hour shift such as:
10:30 AM–7:00 PM
11:00 AM–7:30 PM
11:30 AM–8:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
Handle inbound calls regarding Medicaid enrollment and managed care plans
Educate clients on available healthcare options and assist with plan selection
Accurately process enrollment and disenrollment forms
Perform administrative and mailroom-related tasks as needed
Provide bilingual interpretation (Bengali, Hindi, or Urdu to English)
Document all consumer interactions in internal systems
Escalate complex issues appropriately
Attend regular training to stay updated on program policies
Candidate Requirements
Required:
Must reside on the East Coast (New York State preferred)
High school diploma or equivalent (college degree a plus)
Fluent in English and Bengali, Hindi, or Urdu (spoken and written)
At least 2 years of experience in customer service or human services
Typing speed: 35 WPM or higher
Tech-savvy with strong communication and multitasking skills
Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a remote team environment
Preferred:
Experience in a call center, healthcare, or public service setting
Familiarity with Medicaid, managed care, or state health programs
Remote Work Requirements:
Windows 10 PC or macOS Catalina (10.15) or newer
Wired USB headset with microphone (Bluetooth not permitted)
Stable internet: 25 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload (no mobile hotspots or public/shared Wi-Fi)
Quiet, private home workspace free from distractions
Ability to work efficiently with multiple systems or dual screens
